Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy Certification Course Online
£656.40 (inc VAT)
If you are already qualified as a hypnotherapist and wish to advance your skills and are interested in learning more about Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapist (CBH) approaches to patient care, then this is an excellent opportunity to obtain that level of qualification and expand your skills as an evidence based hypnosis clinician.
This training course contains video recordings of the intensive 5-day classroom training, supplemented with comprehensive learning materials.
CBH Course Curriculum:
This is a strongly evidence based course and incorporates a wide range of studies and research into the syllabus. Though evidence demonstrates that hypnosis can advance the efficacy of some CBT techniques when combined, Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy is not just an amalgam of CBT plus hypnosis, not at all. You’ll learn in this course that the cognitive behavioural approach to hypnotherapy pre-exists the work of CBT pioneers Ellis and Beck, for example.
Likewise, we draw from the substantial contributions to the field of cognitive behavioural therapy and hypnotherapy from a wide range of authors.
Here is some of what you will learn:
- Cognitive-Behavioural Theories of Hypnosis
- An Understanding of the Underlying Philosophy of the Cognitive Behavioural Approach to Therapy
- Mindfulness-Based Therapeutic Interventions
- Incorporate ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) into your client work.
- Cognitive Behavioural Uses Of Relaxation Skills including Hypnotic Desensitisation
- Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapeutic Questioning Techniques
- A Range of Approaches and Uses of CBT Thought Forms
- Cognitive Disputation and Cognitive Restructuring Methods
- A Wide Range of Mental Imagery Techniques
- Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy Approaches
- Variety of Exposure Interventions
- Consultation and Assessment Methods of Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy
Your online video tuition is supplemented with the following:
- Comprehensive course manual
- Class handouts
- Scripts for a wide range of standardised interventions so that you can see how researchers worded specific methodologies.
- There is a core, recommended text to invest in and supplement your course notes and you will receive a thorough, recommended reading list upon successful enrolment for this course.
Evidence Base:
Hypnotherapy has a very impressive evidence base.
Many front-line hypnotherapists are still very unaware of the breadth and depth of that evidence base. Many are still using processes and techniques that they have been taught that carry no evidence at all and wondering why they are not getting the most impressive results in therapy. Remember, results get you more clients and an impressive reputation.
The cognitive behavioural approach to hypnotherapy offers strongly evidence-based techniques and strategies.
- It has academic underpinning which stands up to scrutiny and peer-review.
- It offers you a very responsible and ethical way to treat clients.
- Easier to establish working relationships with conventional medical professionals.
You get a lot of standardised scripts to employ within your professional practice straight away or to see how these protocols were used in the context of research, but you also learn strategies and protocols that require no script at all.
There is a coursework questionnaire as part of the assessment to complete following the video tuition. There is then a requirement for you to submit two written case studies demonstrating the cognitive-behavioural hypnotherapy approach.
Entry Requirements:
In order to qualify as a delegate for this course, you are required to hold a diploma level qualification in hypnotherapy.

Cognitive Reprocessing
Distance Learning

Almost all learning, behaviour and change is done at an Unconscious level, so if we are experiencing things we don’t want in life, the place to start is inside our unconscious mind.
A unique combination of Neuroscience the why it works: and integrated modalities, what to do and how to facilitate adaptive behavioural, emotional change
The combustion engine to change
It incorporates ideas, techniques and strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychology concepts , Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) , fitness, nutrition, physiological, emotional intelligence , neuroscience, neuroplasticity binding them together with hypnotic language to create a powerful intervention.
Concepts reach areas of the brain that were formed early in phylogenetic history ; they reach primitive sides of the brain, the hypothesised focus of maladaptive psychological patterns. Problems are lodged in the limbic areas of the brain, the emotional /social centre. If problems were located in pre frontal cortex, the reasoning centre , they would be easy to resolve-an instruction manual would suffice. In contradistinction, conceptual communication must be lived so that adaptive states an identities can be realised . We sculpt our brain according to our lived experiences,
Providing an effective and powerful framework for practitioners to use in helping clients achieve positive change in their lives.
Hypnotherapy is a natural, safe, client-based approach that uses the natural trance states that we all experience every day, like when you have been so absorbed in your own thoughts that you didn’t see a friend when you passed them in the street, or when you are driving and get to your destination but have no recollection of the journey.
Research suggests that we spend much of our day in such a state so I don’t have to do anything special to you to get you into a trance, you are already very good at doing it for yourself!
In Cognitive reprocessing we use this natural trance state to help uncover the unconscious feelings, thoughts and memory patterns that lead to your problem and which continue to maintain it.
Between the ages of 0-6, our brain is in a highly receptive state, our filters which process information are raw and undeveloped, the brain becomes programmed from what we experience, see and hear. This forms the wiring of our brain and becomes our thought patterns, values, beliefs, perceptions and feelings about our self, life and others. The programming continues as we get older, however the first 6 years are extremely formative. This programming either supports or hinders our the quality of your life.
Several breakthrough studies suggest that we may have more control over how our brains function and develop throughout adulthood—our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions—than previously assumed.
Why does this matter? Because by learning how to control our mentality, we may be able to deliberately reshape our neural pathways and rewire our brains to make ourselves more successful and fulfilled. In other words, shape your brain and you can shape your life.
It is a very collaborative therapy: the therapist works together with the client, assisting them to find their own solutions. Cognitive hypnotherapy works with the client’s model and experience of the world, choosing the most appropriate interventions for each individual.
The principle behind Cognitive reprocessing is that thoughts affect a person’s emotions and behaviours. When a person suffers with psychological distress, the way in which they interpret situations becomes skewed, which in turn has a negative impact on the actions they take.
Cognitive reprocessing aims to help people become aware of when they make negative interpretaions, and of behavioural patterns which reinforce the distorted thinking. Cognitive reprogramming helps people to develop alternative ways of thinking and behaving which reduce the psychological distress.
