Almost all learning, behaviour and change is done at an
Unconscious level, so if we are experiencing things we
don’t want in life, the place to start is inside our
unconscious mind.
A unique combination of Neuroscience the why it works:
and integrated modalities, what to do and how to
facilitate adaptive behavioural, emotional change
The combustion engine to change
It incorporates ideas, techniques and strategies from
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychology concepts
, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) , fitness,
nutrition, physiological, emotional intelligence ,
neuroscience, neuroplasticity binding them together with
hypnotic language to create a powerful intervention.
Concepts reach areas of the brain that were formed early
in phylogenetic history ; they reach primitive sides of
the brain, the hypothesised focus of maladaptive
psychological patterns. Problems are lodged in the
limbic areas of the brain, the emotional /social centre.
If problems were located in pre frontal cortex, the
reasoning centre , they would be easy to resolve-an
instruction manual would suffice. In contradistinction,
conceptual communication must be lived so that adaptive
states an identities can be realised . We sculpt our
brain according to our lived experiences,
Providing an effective and powerful framework for
practitioners to use in helping clients achieve positive
change in their lives.
Hypnotherapy is a natural, safe, client-based approach
that uses the natural trance states that we all
experience every day, like when you have been so
absorbed in your own thoughts that you didn’t see a
friend when you passed them in the street, or when you
are driving and get to your destination but have no
recollection of the journey.
Research suggests that we spend much of our day in such
a state so I don’t have to do anything special to you to
get you into a trance, you are already very good at
doing it for yourself!
In Cognitive reprocessing we use this natural trance
state to help uncover the unconscious feelings, thoughts
and memory patterns that lead to your problem and which
continue to maintain it.
Between the ages of 0-6, our brain is in a highly
receptive state, our filters which process information
are raw and undeveloped, the brain becomes programmed
from what we experience, see and hear. This forms the
wiring of our brain and becomes our thought patterns,
values, beliefs, perceptions and feelings about our
self, life and others. The programming continues as we
get older, however the first 6 years are extremely
formative. This programming either supports or hinders
our the quality of your life.
Several breakthrough studies suggest that we may have
more control over how our brains function and develop
throughout adulthood—our thoughts, behaviors, and
emotions—than previously assumed.
Why does this matter? Because by learning how to control
our mentality, we may be able to deliberately reshape
our neural pathways and rewire our brains to make
ourselves more successful and fulfilled. In other words,
shape your brain and you can shape your life.
It is a very collaborative therapy: the therapist works
together with the client, assisting them to find their
own solutions. Cognitive hypnotherapy works with the
client’s model and experience of the world, choosing the
most appropriate interventions for each individual.
The principle behind Cognitive reprocessing is that
thoughts affect a person’s emotions and behaviours. When
a person suffers with psychological distress, the way in
which they interpret situations becomes skewed, which in
turn has a negative impact on the actions they take.
Cognitive reprocessing aims to help people become aware
of when they make negative interpretaions, and of
behavioural patterns which reinforce the distorted
thinking. Cognitive reprogramming helps people to
develop alternative ways of thinking and behaving which
reduce the psychological distress.
