Persona Therapy – Online Diploma Certificate
Distance Learning
Persona Therapy is an advanced form of Parts Therapy. It has become a popular option for therapists seeking to expand their therapeutic repertoire. This approach differs from other ‘parts-based’ therapies in the emphasis that is put on allowing the client to develop their own ‘personae list’. True to the ‘Eriksonian Principle of Utilisation', this form of therapy allows the client to draw on their own inner resources, in the development of a ‘vincular’ self. The vincular self (from the Latin ‘vincere’, to draw together), is the director of the ‘life-play’ in which the personae play out their ‘scenes’. We will also introduce the student to the ‘matrix’ system for identifying conflicts, alliances and threats amongst the client’s personae. This CPD Masterclass is based on over 25 years developing this form of therapy.
•Precursors to Persona Therapy
•Conceptual basis
•Origins and historical awareness
•Components and categories of personae
•The personae spectrum
•Difference between personae and Multiple Personality Disorder
•The role of ‘I’
•Episodic and narrative thinking
•Cognitive bias
•Social role performance and psychodramatic roles
•The role of identity
•When to use Persona Therapy
•Types of personae problem
•Persistent dysfunctions
•Personae problems
•The five stages of Persona Therapy
•The ‘Casting’ technique (used to separate out various personae)
•How to apply structures for analyzing persona
•How to interpret each persona’s significance for the client’s problems
•How to use the ‘Persona Matrix’ to identify conflicts, alliances and threats
•How to design a ‘Cast Party’ as a therapeutic tool for carrying therapy forward
•Worked examples
•Specimen script
•Additional Persona Therapy techniques

Parts Therapy Online CPD Course
This online training course will enable you to help clients with inner conflicts to find a resolution.
What is parts therapy?
We are all made up of different parts, for example, there is part of us that is a cook, a driver, a parent or teacher. Then there is a part of us that likes to learn or a part of us that is a child another part of us can be serious or a little crazy. Parts can sometimes be referred to as ego states I like to call them parts to keep it simple and easy to understand.
All parts of us are there to protect us and help us to cope with life. However, sometimes we are not happy with a particular part of us. For example, there may be a part of us that wants to promote our business and go out and give talks, and another part of us doesn’t want us to stand up and talk and be seen. Both parts are trying to protect us but are in conflict with each other this is when parts therapy can be a useful tool.
Learning Outcomes:
•What is parts therapy?
•When to use parts therapy
•Pre-talk with your client
•How to establish the IMR (Ideomotor Response)
•Calling out a conflicting Part
•Questioning & maintaining rapport
•Calling out a motivating part
Also Included:
•A practical role play demonstration
•A Script to deliver parts therapy.
•A download of the parts therapy manual to print off and keep.
On completion of the online training course you will be able to download and print off your certificate of completion and will be able to facilitate parts therapy with your clients.
